Spot multiple statues of the man himself on your drive through Ajaccio before reaching the scenic Route des Sanguinaires highway. On a drive into the countryside, you’ll tour the nearly abandoned Civita di Bagnoregio. This isolated village features narrow streets and ancient buildings made from stone — but most of the city no longer exists. You’ll then taste local wines in a nearby vineyard along with a traditional lunch. Before your trip back, visit Parco dei Mostri in Bomarzo where you’ll enter through a screaming mouth sculpture (the mouth of hell) and witness multiple macabre creatures throughout your walk.

After a drive into Rome’s city center, step into history on a tour of the city’s iconic Colosseum. Inside the arena, see where gladiators and wild animals fought to the death during Rome’s glory days. A guide will walk you over to Palatine Hill and through the Roman Forum, two of the city’s oldest relics that have survived millennia, then to the Trevi Fountain. Here your guide will give you details on where to meet later on, so you can continue your day discovering the Eternal City on your own.

Upon arrival, a local guide will give you a tour of St. Peter’s Square, a map, and instructions on where to meet before your return. Now, the whole day is yours to explore at your leisure. Spend the day immersing yourself in culinary history with a journey through Alta Tuscia Viterbese, an area devoted to Italy's rich olive oil tradition. Get lost in the ancient landscape as you visit the village of Tuscania, known for its beautiful churches and medieval city center. Then, visit an oil mill where you'll learn how olives are harvested and how oil production works.

Step into history on a visit to the Medieval city of Capalbio. Dating back to the Bronze Age, many buildings remain intact since the 1400s (or earlier) including Porta Senese, the Walkway of Ronda, and the Pieve di San Nicola. You’ll take a short walking tour, then have free time to explore independently. Afterward, enjoy the views of the countryside while riding over to a local vineyard to sample different blends in one the country’s most acclaimed wine regions, before returning to the ship.
