See the best of Copenhagen on two wheels with a little help from a pedelec, an electrically powered bicycle that assists you up to 25 km/h while you pedal. The city boasts a superb network of cycle paths, making it easy to get around to all the main sights. Your route first takes you through the park of the old citadel, Kastellet, and the Rosenborg garden en route to Sortedams Lake. From there, cycle to the zoological garden, where you can enjoy a short break to look around. Then it's back to the city centre, passing the Planetarium, the famous Tivoli Amusement Park, and the Town Hall Square. Enjoy another break independently exploring Copenhagen's historic inner city ("Indre By" in Danish). Your cycling ruote then proceeds past the Round Tower and Christiansborg Palace, then on to the new Nyhavn Harbor and the Amalienborg Palace. On your way back to the ship, you'll have time for a final photo stop in front of the world-famous statue of the Little Mermaid.

What better way to discover Copenhagen than by bicycle, the city's number 1 means of transport! The excellent cycle path network invites you to explore the sights by bike  and they come thick and fast. The tour begins with a cycle through the mighty Kastellet fortifications and the Rosenborg Castle garden to Sortedams Lake. You'll continue past the Planetarium, the famous Tivoli Amusement Park, and the Town Hall Square. Then enjoy a break in the medieval Indre By ("inner city") district, exploring Copenhagen's historic centre by yourself. After your break, cycle past the Round Tower, Christiansborg Palace, the new Nyhavn Harbor and Amalienborg Palace. Finally, before returning to your vessel, you will of course pass the most famous symbol of Copenhagen: Lille Havfrue, the Little Mermaid.

Embark yourself in this lovely exploration while enjoying at your leisure three of the main sightseeing spots in Copenhagen. Leave the pier by coach and drive directly to the Little Mermaid where you will have approx. 30 minutes to admire the beauty of Denmark's most iconic landmark, followed by a short drive to Amalienborg, current residence of the Danish Royal Family with another approx. 30 minutes to explore this exclusive quarter. To top off this experience, you will reach Nyhavn, a beautiful picturesque canal district filled with history and a wide variety of cafés, bars, and restaurants. Enjoy some more 30 minutes' strolling this area, an absolute favorite of both tourists and locals. Next, you may opt to return to the pier or to stay in town on your own, taking the shuttle service for a later return to the port; a stop is located only 7 minutes walk from Nyhavn. This canal district is situated at the heart of Copenhagen from where you can reach within 5 minutes' walk Strøget, the longest pedestrian shopping street in Europe, crossing the entire city center and leading you all the way to other main spots of the city such as the Nørreport quarter and the City Town Hall Square.

This short, but informative city tour starts with a drive to one of Copenhagen's symbols, the statue of Hans Christian Andersen's Little Mermaid. It was commissioned in honour of the fairytale by the founder of a Danish beer brand in 1909. Although only small in stature, the mermaid is beautifully sculpted and well worth a snapshot or two. Copenhagen's stunning waterfront and the canal district in Nyhavn comes next, home to a plethora of fashionable cafés, bars, and restaurants. Next to the harbour's many historical ships, the quarter is also known for its brightly coloured 17th- and early 18th-century buildings. Enjoy a guided walk through this lively quarter before boarding the coach again and continue your sightseeing tour of the city passing by the Christiansborg Palace, the Old Stock Exchange, Tivoli Gardens and the City Hall Square where a photo stop is scheduled. Located at the southwestern end of the pedestrian street Strøget, it is one of the large squares of the city flanked by notable buildings including the City Hall, the Politikens Hus - the headquarters of the national daily newspapers Politiken - and Industriens Hus, the headquarters of the Confederation of Danish Industry. After taking a look around the square and taking some photographs of the many sculptures, board the coach again and pass by Nørreport Station and Rosenborg Castle en route to Amalienborg Palace. A final stop outside the Royal Family's winter residence concludes your tour.

This eco-adventure begins with a visit to an urban rooftop gym in the newly developed Nordhavn area, before moving to Saint Kjled's Square for an introduction to Copenhagen's Climate-Resilient Neighbourhood, a beacon for how Denmark creates the climate-change-adapted urban spaces of the future. Next up is a guided visit to ØsterGRO, the first rooftop farm in Denmark, established in 2014 on top of an old car-auction house in the heart of the Climate-Resilient Neighbourhood. The farm covers 600 m² with fields of organic vegetables, herbs and edible flowers, a greenhouse, a henhouse and 3 beehives, selling its produce to 40 members who each pay for a share of the harvest. Your tour continues to The Wave - an urban hangout at the former industrial harbour, where you can enjoy a guided walk along the capital's waterfront, all the way to the sustainable Royal Playhouse with its new drainage system. Finally, enjoy some free time around the Nyhavn area before your transfer back to the pier.

Discover Copenhagen and the neighbouring town of Dragør on this enjoyable sightseeing tour, which begins with the main attractions of lovely Copenhagen, the Danish capital, with a first stop at the Little Mermaid, Copenhagen's most iconic landmark. Other places of interest include the stock exchange building and the vibrant canal-side Nyhavn district. After leaving the city, a coach will then take you on an approx. 30-minute drive to Dragør, giving you a chance to get a look at the bridge that connects Denmark with Sweden. Known for its many preserved historical buildings, the old part of Dragør town forms a labyrinth of picturesque alleyways, cobbled streets and traditional brightly painted Danish houses. A drink and a delicious Danish pastry round off your trip to this charming old seafaring town.

This enjoyable excursion provides bags of fun for everyone  even if you are new to kayaking. Meet your guide at the pier, walk for 10 minutes to the kayak base  a small beach nearby  and get ready to an experience into wild nature across the waters of Eidfjord's fjord. After listening to a short briefing and being fully kitted out, board your kayak and begin to paddle. This is undoubtedly one of the best ways to experience the beauty and magnificence of the fjord with steep mountains, wild scenery and peaks rising all around you. At the end of your adventure, leave the kayak and walk back to the pier and then to your cruise ship.

Goats and birdlife, modern architecture and impressive power plants and bags of nature are the ingredients of this short but intensive experience. The excursion begins at Eidfjord harbour with a short safety briefing before being dressed up for the adventure. As all the sites will be viewed directly from the boat with some stops during the itinerary, weather conditions and the wind dictate the final itinerary on the day of your excursion. Take seat on the boat, prepare your camera, and let the boat driver take you to a lovely journey through nature. Subjects to be photographed may be goats coming down to the boat in Hotle, seals in the sea or on the land but also a varied birdlife, mostly seabirds. Other stops may include views from the water of the Simadalsfjord, Norway's largest power plants and the Eidfjord community, Fjordgardane Kjeåsen and Skår, Hardangerbrua and Hardangerjøkulen as well as a waterfall that almost falls on the boat.

Built on sand- and gravel moraines form the last ice Age some 8.000 years ago, Eidfjord is a small village and the starting point to your day-long nature exploration. With Voss as your destination, begin the excursion driving along the fjord, passing over Hardanger Bridge, a suspension bridge inaugurated in 2013 and whose main span is one of the longest in the world, and under some tunnels, one of which is Vallavik Tunnel, 8.1-km long and with a roundabout inside. Voss is a well-known tourist resort both summer and winter with an attractive setting near Vangsvatnet lake. You stop here for lunch in one of the many hotels before proceeding by bus to Flåm. On the way a stop is made at the Tvinde waterfall, continuing by Oppheim lake, and heading down the spectacular hairpin bends, the so-called Stalheimskleiva, the steepest road in Norway. On either side there are beautiful waterfalls: Sivle fall and Stalheim fall. Once you arrive in Flåm, swap your bus with a train, and embark the Flåmsbana (Flaamsrailway). It is one of the most interesting railways in Norway even though it is only 20 km long. The journey from Flåm, 2 m above sea level, to Myrdal, 867 m above sea level, lasts 45-55 minutes and is a great experience. The largest slope is 1: 18. A vertical drop of 867 meters on a 20 km route is unique for an ordinary railway. Along the way you will have great views of Norwegian mountain scenery with an ever-changing panorama of high mountains and cascading waterfalls. On the best vantage points the train moves slowly or stops. In Myrdal you change the train and continue with the Bergensbanen (Bergen railway) through the Grabhalstunnel and the beautiful Rauntal back to Voss. During the drive back to Eidfjord you will have a photo stop to admire the Skjervet waterfall if the train schedule allows.

When we learn that Norway's landmass consists of about 75% mountains, lakes, glaciers, approximately 22% forest, and only 3% arable land, the Hardanger fjord and the surrounding districts fully confirm this. However, no rule is without exception. In these mountains and valleys, we can also find several green pockets, among them Ulvik with its fruit growing. Characterised as "Norway's fruit garden", the Hardanger fjord lies at the edge of the Hardangervidda mountain plateau Europe's largest wilderness territory. Leave Eidfjord and drive on the Hardanger Suspension Bridge – opened in August 2013 – with a total length of 1380 meters to cross the fjord. Continue along another branch of the fjord to scenic Ulvik Village to visit Lekve Farm. Enjoy a tour of the small Hardanger Cider production facilities – a modern development from the ancient traditions of production and consumption of the Apple Cider, including taste samples from their products of Juice, Cider & Brandy. The drive back to the port concludes your cider experience.

A few hours off the ship to discover the beauty of the wild nature around Eidfjord. Board the coach, follow the river Eid, well-known for trout- and salmon fishing, pass the little village Øvre Eidfjord and enter Måbødal Valley with its towering mountain walls. The road goes through some long tunnels but also provides you with partial views of the old road and the beautiful stone bridges built in by-gone days. After climbing up to 750 metres above sea level, we discover Hardangervidda, the largest mountain plateau in Europe, most of it situated at more than 1200 m and a national park where vegetation and wildlife is protected. We continue to the Sysendam being one of the 4 dams supplying the nearby Sima Hydro-electric Plant with necessary water. Have a walk on the dam and, at certain times of the year, you may be able to have a view of the Hardangerjøkulen Glacier. Returning along the same road, we reach our next destination: Fossli Hotel where coffee and pastries will be served. In front of the hotel a path leads down to a viewing platform from where one can enjoy the sight of the Vøring waterfall which cascades down into a deep canyon almost 600 ft./182 mt. below. Then, it is time to return via the same road down to Eidfjord and your waiting ship.

This walking experience is to what is know in Norway as "birch gardens" on the Hereid Terrace and a plunge into quiet landscape and nature. Walking along partly paved and gravelled roads, farm tracks and paths, you reach the Hareid Terrace, built up by sand and gravel deposited by the retreating arm of the glacier. The top of the terrace is almost flat. On one side the terrace slopes towards the lake, on two sides it steeply descends towards the fjord and the river and on the fourth side it is framed by the mountain. There are 7 small farms on the plateau and the area looks like a park: among the spaced plantings of birch trees the scattered remains of an iron age burial site with approx. 350 mounds and cairns can be found. The site has not yet been fully excavated and the 9 catalogued finds dated from approx. 500 to 1000 AD are kept in the Historical Museum in Bergen. The walk downhill, passing a housing estate on the hillside, ends the excursion.

Even though the road goes mainly through long tunnels, you can sometimes spot the old road and the beautiful stone-bridges built in by-gone days here and there. Take the camera ready for the last part of the excursion as you turn off from the main road towards Fossli hotel perched high above the Måbø gorge and walk down to the viewpoint in front of the hotel to admire the Vøring waterfall tumbling nearly 600 ft. to the valley-floor. Then, sit back in your coach and enjoy the drive back to the ship.

For a once in a lifetime experience, why not take a helicopter "flightseeing" trip from Haugesund to get a bird's eye view of the surroundings? The chance to admire Norway's famous fjords and mountains from above makes for a uniquely breathtaking experience. From the moment you climb aboard the helicopter to the moment you are back down on the ground you'll be amazed by the magnificent views. Preikestolen  also known by the English translation of Pulpit Rock  is one of the most visited attractions in Norway, and one of the most photographed sites. This massive cliff is 604 metres above Lysefjorden, and at its summit is an almost flat area of approximately 25 by 25 metres. After viewing this amazing spot, you'll return to your starting point, admiring more splendid views of the Haugesund region en route. This excursion is also a unique opportunity for people with limited mobility to see the area from above.

Enjoy an exhilarating hike along paths running from Åkrahamn to Ferkingstad on the west side of Karmøy, with many cultural and historical monuments to see en route, between Åkra and the ancient boathouse ruins at Hop. The tour starts at the north end of Åkrasanden, where you can take in the superb view of the white beaches that stretch out along the coastline. The trek follows a natural path, allowing you to admire the area's rich fauna and bird life. At the south end of the beach, the tour continues to a historic site dating back to the Viking era. Here you can see large stone monuments that symbolise the two daughters of the Viking King Augvald. The walk then proceeds to the picturesque beach at Ferkinstad, before your return to the ship.

Enjoy a 1.5-hour coach drive to Åkrafjorden, passing by Haugesund's striking City Hall and the town's residential areas. On arrival at the fjord, board a boat and enjoy a 45-minute cruise to the foot of the Langfoss waterfall, ranked by CNN as one of the 10 most beautiful waterfalls in the world. The water from Langfoss is said to have "magical" energising powers that make people more fertile! The boat will drop you off at Eljarvik Farm, where you can admire the superb view of the waterfall. Once invigorated by lunch, you will board the coach again to return to the port but not before making a brief stop at the amazing Langfoss waterfall. Keep your camera ready but don't be startled by the thunderous sound of water cascading 610 metres down into the Tjørna River below; this spectacle of nature deserves more than one shot for your holiday album

This excursion takes you on a scenic tour of the area surrounding the coastal town of Haugesund, as you head towards the Arquebus War History Museum. (The name Arquebus was used as a codename by a local partisan operating an illegal radio transmitter during the war.) Situated in a former factory at the top of the Førresfjord, the museum occupies an area of over 2.000 square metres and illustrates numerous aspects of Second World War history. You'll then head to Mount Steinsfjellet Viewpoint which, although only 227 metres above sea level, offers great views of Haugesund and the surroundings. Your next stop is the Haraldshaugen Monument  a national monument erected in 1872 to commemorate the 1.000th anniversary of the Battle of Hafrsfjord near Stavanger in 872, when Harald Fairhair united Norway into one kingdom. The King chose Avaldsnes on nearby Karmøy Island for his royal estate, and the monument is erected where he is believed to have been buried.

Situated between the Boknafjord, north of Stavanger and the Hardangerfjord and Bergen, Haugesund is the natural "capital" of the region. Haugesund is inseparably linked to the sea and owes its prosperity to the rich herring fisheries dating from the 19th-century. Although it did not officially become a town until 1855, its history as a settlement goes back at least to the year 1217, when it was mentioned in the Norse Sagas. As you drive through the centre of town, you'll pass the pink Town Hall, before continuing towards Haraldshaugen  raised in 1872 as a National Monument commemorating The Battle of Hafrsfjord where King Harald Fairhair won over the chieftains of 29 historic counties and gathered Norway into one kingdom in 872 A.D. The tour then proceeds towards the Steinsfjellet viewpoint  only 227 metres above sea level but offering excellent views of Haugesund and the surrounding area  before continuing on a route that will eventually bring you back to your starting point.

This fascinating tour begins with a visit to Vigsnes copper museum. One winter day in 1865 a herring fisherman from Jaeren found some rich copper ore in Vigsnes, and by 1895 this was Northern Europe's largest copper works. The Statue of Liberty in New York is clad with copper from these mines, which eventually closed in 1972. The museum tells the story of the mining community, with exhibitions illustrating their working methods. The museum is located in picturesque surroundings, with footpaths and an interesting playground for children. After your visit, the tour proceeds to Avalsnes and the Viking farm, situated on a small, forested island. Here you'll find a longhouse, a boathouse for a Viking warship, a roundhouse, and several smaller buildings. Outside the farmyard, there are paths through the forest for those looking for peace and tranquility. After the visit here, the tour ends with your return to the port.

Here, you'll visit Mælandgården Museum, an authentic merchant's house from the 19th-century, when Skudeneshavn was a prosperous fishing and trading post. Your tour ends with the drive back to Haugesund via the east side of the island.

The attractive city of Oslo is Norway's capital and looks back on a rich history going right back to its foundation by King Harald III c. 1048. This culture-based tour begins with a drive-by look at Oslo's main landmarks in the city centre, which certainly include the Royal Palace, on your way to Frogner Park. Covering an area of some 45 hectares, this super-sized city park also hosts a fabulous collection of art in the so-called "Vigeland Sculpture Arrangement". This exhibition of sculptural art comprises the lifework of the famous Norwegian sculptor, Gustav Vigeland, and is made up of more than 150 works that represent the full range of the human condition - from birth to death. Vigeland lived from 1869 to 1943 and is also known for having designed the medal that is awarded to winners of the Nobel Peace Prize. The tour then continues on to the nearby Bygdøy peninsula for a first stop at the fascinating Fram Museum, whose highlight is undoubtedly the impressive Fram ship, one of the hugest wooden ships in the world. Its expedition to the South Pole, which brought its team worldwide fame, is memorable. During your visit to the Museum, you can go on board the ship, visit the cabins, immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the polar expeditions; information is available in several languages thanks to an interesting film. To give an extra Arctic touch to the visit, don't miss the route on an ice corridor. To round out your Oslo experience, you will also pay a visit to the Kon-Tiki Museum for a look at the famous balsa-wood raft that the legendary Norwegian explorer and zoologist Thor Heyerdahl used to cross the Pacific Ocean in 1969 as well as the reed vessel Heyerdahl used on his Ra II expedition. This maritime experience ends with your return to the port and your ship.

Prepare to spend a few hours visiting the beautiful capital of Sweden and entering the magical world of Astrid Lindgren's characters. After leaving the port, you will enjoy a panoramic bus tour that will introduce you to the beauties of Stockholm. You will admire the City Hall  home of the Nobel Prize Banquet  the Royal Palace. Enjoy a 30-minute walk along the narrow, cobble-stoned streets of the old town, the winding alleys and past houses, shops and churches. A short bus transfer will take you to Djurgården Island and to Junibacken where many of famous writer Astrid Lindgren's characters have their home: Pippi Longstocking and her horse, the monkey Mr. Nilsson and Mardie. This is truly a fairytale paradise.

Leave the pier on a scenic drive through the Swedish capital on your way to Södermalm, the Southern Island. You will pass Åsögatan with its charming area of red wooden cottages dating back to the 18th century, on towards the Sofia Church. Then, leave the coach for a pleasant guided walk where it is easy to feel whisked back into an earlier century. You can spot many historic houses in excellent condition remain and are often the homes of artists and cultural workers. Continue through the Stockholm hipster area of SoFo, a pun on the more known SoHo, the districts in London and Manhattan. Enjoy Nytorget - a popular hangout for locals before continuing your walk towards Mosebacke with its terrasse and magnificent view over the whole city. Not far from Mosebacke you will find the Katarina Church, dating back to the 17th century. Board the coach again and continue the panoramic city drive passing many of the Stockholm's landmarks and main attractions on your way to the next stop: the Old Town. Enjoy a walk offering external views of the Royal Palace, the Cathedral, exploring the narrow, twisting alleys and cobbled stoned street of the old medieval town. Experience the medieval charm of the old historical buildings dating from the 16th to the 19th centuries, before returning to the pier.

Enjoy a scenic drive to the old town and journey back hundreds of years as you visit the most charming island in Stockholm, the old district of the city known as "Gamla Stan". Enjoy a 30-minute sightseeing walk through narrow, cobbled streets and down winding alleys overlooked by soaring church spires and populated with boutique shops and homes dating from the XVI century. Board the coach and drive to the Vasa Museum built during the XVII century and which houses a Swedish warship that sank in Stockholm's harbour on her maiden voyage in 1628. The vessel was discovered in 1956 and raised from the seabed in 1961. After one hour visit inside the Museum, our excursion continues with a visit around Skansen Open Air Museum, the world's oldest open-air museum. Built to depict Swedish life and with replicas of traditional Swedish buildings, children will enjoy seeing many of the indigenous animals whilst you get a taste of traditional customs and life in this country. The excursion also includes some time on your own for shopping opportunities. Return to the port.

The latter-named was first opened to the public in the late 19th-century and was intended to show how life was lived in various parts of Sweden prior to industrialisation. Situated at the mouth of the River Warnow and founded in the year 1195, the Baltic resort of Warnemünde presents visitors with an appealingly quaint townscape - one that this tour gives you a chance to explore on foot. After leaving the ship and meeting your guide, you'll set off on a roughly 2-hour walk around town. The route will take you down the promenade alongside the Alter Strom - literally Old Stream - harbour entrance, complete with moored fishing boats and yachts, old houses that fishing folk call home, cafés and a lighthouse dating back to 1897. Your guide will provide you with interesting information on the history of the lovely old town as you stroll towards a building simply called the Kurhaus - the spa building - which was built in Art Deco style and completed in 1928 according to plans already drawn up in 1898. Once you've returned to the Alter Strom, you can choose whether to stay and do some shopping or whether to return straight to the ship.

Promising to deliver the best of Berlin, this all-day tour begins with an approx 3-hour scenic coach drive through northern Germany to meet your guide in the big city. The tour will then take you to Charlottenburg Palace for a short photo stop and admire the vast complex in Baroque-/Rococo-style that dates back to the late 17th-/early 18th-centuries. After a chance to take some photos, you will move on through the west of Berlin, driving down Kurfürstendamm, then passing the 19th-century Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and the KaDeWe, Germany's largest department store. As you head for East Berlin, the route will take you past the 19th-century Victory Column and Potsdamer Platz before you will have approx. 1-hour free time to explore the area around the Brandenburg Gate or to have lunch on your own. During the communist era, this was the site of the terrifying "death strip", but now freed of this oppressive spectre, the area welcomes visitors with the German Reichstag building on the one and the lovely Unter den Linden boulevard on the other side. Re-connect with your guide at the nearby Holocaust Memorial before heading for East Berlin, passing Bebelplatz, Gendarmenmarkt, Checkpoint Charlie  an iconic reminder of the former political division. The excursion will also give you chance to take a look at what is left of the Berlin Wall before heading back to Warnemünde and to your ship.

Make the most of your call in Warnemünde and spend half a day exploring the gorgeous old Hanseatic city of Rostock. Accompanied by your guide you will board a boat in Warnemünde for an enjoyable 1-hour cruise along the river with some nice chances to take photos for your memory book. You will arrive in Rostock to start an approx. 1.5-hour walking tour that will introduce you to the city and its gabled, brick-fronted houses and main landmarks. After a chance to visit the 13th-century Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Mary, Rostock's largest and most important, you'll move on to the Kröpeliner Gate, built around 1900, the 13th-century city hall, Rostock University, founded in 1419, and the 13th-century Monastery of the Holy Cross. The tour concludes with the journey back to Warnemünde and your waiting ship.

Your tour begins with a 2-hour coach drive through north Germany's bucolic countryside to Lübeck where you will meet your guide. Enjoy an approx. 1.5-hour walking tour through its medieval centre, listed as a UNESCO heritage site and marvel at the many reminders of the Hanseatic League's heyday between the 11th and 17th centuries. Enjoy a walk in this fairy-tail environs down the narrow old streets to reach the imposing brick Gothic cathedral in the middle of town, along with the beautiful buildings flanking the marketplace. Strolling on, you will then head for the utterly amazing Schwerin Castle, which is surrounded by palatial gardens and sits on an island in Lake Schwerin. Enjoy a visit to the Castle's gardens before returning to the port.

This excursion offers the opportunity to spend some time enjoying and relaxing on the Baltic coast. The excursion begins by boarding a coach and a short panoramic tour en-route to Warnemünde, the surrounding countryside until reaching Bad Doberan. Nestled between beautiful beech tree forests, the town is very popular today thanks to Heiligendamm, a district facing directly the Baltic Sea. Your exploration of the very small town includes the visit of the beautiful red-brick Cathedral built in 1368, one of the best examples of Gothic architecture within northern Germany.
