MSC Armonia carries about 2,500 passengers at a time and the theater holds just 557 people .Teatro La Fenice is also used for daytime entertainment, such as a Master Chef competition, during which passengers, both children and adults, have fun competing, just like on the TV show. It's staged once during the cruise.

Leave the port and drive along the northern coastal road to the charming village of Fodele located in a pretty valley full of orange groves. The village is the birthplace of the famous painter El Greco who was born here in 1541. You can take a short walk through the village before continuing to Rethymnon. With its aristocratic XVI century buildings and fascinating mix of Byzantine and Hellenic-Roman remains, this town exudes a charming air of faded grandeur. Rethymnon is a mixture of Venetian and Turkish influences and is dominated by a Venetian fortress; you will have time to wander the narrow streets, admire the architecture and browse the local shops.

This tour will take you through some of the most beautiful areas of Crete that are characterized by lush vineyards and ancient olive trees. We will drive across the Aghia Varvara Pass to the southern part of Crete to reach the traditional village of Aghia Varvara where we will stop for a short visit. Our next destination will be the Messara Plain where we will explore the Minoan Palace of Phaestos. The Palace, situated in a magnificent location overlooking the Messara Plain and Ida Mountains, is second in importance and size to the palace of Knossos. The Italian archaeologist Frederico Halbherr excavated the Palace at the beginning of the XX century. The earliest settlements on the site date from the Neolithic Period and small settlements from the early Minoan period were scattered over the hill where the Palace stood. Phaestos was the centre of southern Crete, with two harbours, Matala and Kommos. Please note: this tour is not suitable for guests using a wheelchair.

This leisurely outing will see you savouring lovely views and delicious Greek flavours while you explore Crete by coach. You'll first take a drive-by look at the pretty hamlets of Hersonissos, Malia and Neapoli en route to the Vassilakis olive estate, which was founded in 1865 and is close to the ancient settlement of Drir?s. During a guided tour of the estate and mill, you'll be shown every step of the oil making process from olive to bottle  and from both a historical and modern-day perspective. As part of your tour, you'll also learn to tell good olive oil from bad and wrap your palate around a delicious tasting session of olive oil plus selected local food products. Next up, you'll pay a visit to Aghios Nikolaos, a delightful resort whose main attraction is Lake Voulismeni right in the middle of town. You'll have time to take a stroll around the pretty lake and take a look at the shops, especially jewellers, before you reboard the coach for the return transfer to the ship.

This enjoyable half-day tour offers a chance to touch base with two of Crete's proudest traditions  pottery and wine making  at the villages of Thrapsano and Peza, both of which lie inland from Heraklion. A scenic 45-minute coach ride to the southeast through Crete's varied interior will see you reach your first stop, the hillside village of Thrapsano. Life revolves around pottery here, with a main emphasis on making the giant jars known as pitharia, easily as tall as the average woman. You will get to visit one of the workshops and watch potters plying their time-honoured craft. Part two of the tour will then take you to Peza, a village with a long tradition of wine making. In fact, the surrounding region is responsible for producing around 70% of Cretan wine. A visit to a winery is scheduled here, along with a look at the vineyards and a chance to sample some of the delicious produce. The tour then ends with your return to the ship.

Take yourself back to the Aegean Bronze Age for a few hours to discover relics left by the Minoan civilisation that thrived on Crete from about 2,600 to 1,400 B.C.. Youll first board a coach and head for the outskirts of Heraklion to reach the archaeological site of Knossos, the one-time seat of King Minos. A guide will show you around the labyrinthine palace complex, which includes the royal living quarters, rooms used for state occasions, a theatre, storage areas and potters workshops. Although discovered by a Greek national in 1878, the site only began to be excavated around the turn of the century under the direction of the British archaeologist Sir Arthur Evans. Next up is a visit to the Heraklion Archaeological Museum to continue the Minoan theme. The museum is home to an impressive collection of Minoan artefacts, from terracotta, marble and alabaster idols, through gold, jewellery, ivory and figurines to frescoes and sarcophagi, all of which go to provide a fascinating insight into the artistic flair of this ancient civilisation. Please note: this tour is not suitable for guests using a wheelchair.

Drive along the coastal road and through the spectacular ravine of Saint George to Kritsa passing some villages on the way. Upon your arrival, right at the entrance of the village, you will find the Byzantine church of Panagia Kera which boasts 700-year old frescoes depicting Biblical stories. Soon after the visit, you will have a little free time in the village before continuing along the northern coastal road to reach the typical Cretan coastal town of Aghios Nikolaos. You will see a small lagoon  Lake Voulismeni  right in the centre of the town; the lake, according to local legends, is bottomless. Walk along the lakeshore or explore the pretty streets and browse the shops selling typical souvenirs. Enjoy free time before returning to the port.

The flavours of Greece and a digitally enhanced look at the birthplace of the world's most prestigious sporting event - the Olympic Games - await you on an outing that begins with a scenic coach ride to the rural Magna Grecia Estate. You'll be taken round the farm to see the olive grove and learn about its history, view the vineyards, and say hello to the resident farm animals. Then you can relax to Greek mezes - tasty appetizers - and a glass of local wine before moving on to Olympia, the place where the ancient Olympic Games were held from the 8th century B.C. to the 4th century A.D. and athletes would enter the stadium through a covered passageway. Today, no more than a few parts of the temple have survived at the museum and only ruins remain at the site itself. Among others, the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Hera, the Prytaneion and the Philippeion have all disappeared. But thanks to a mobile 3D reconstruction device, you'll be able to get a very clear idea of what Olympia would have looked like in its heyday. Your return to the ship then brings the outing to a close.

Designed to give you a taste of ancient Greece, this tour takes you inland from the port of Katakolon to the site of ancient Olympia, which was excavated by a team of German archaeologists in the 19th-century, yielding a wealth of historical artefacts. Greek mythology has it that Zeus, the king of the Greek gods, built Olympia. The site, surrounded by trees, includes dozens of remains of buildings constructed not only for religious reasons but also for the sporting events held there. Your tour around the archaeological site will take you past the ruins of the Temple of Zeus, the gymnasium, the hippodrome, and the stadium, which held up to 40.000 spectators  quite a crowd even by modern-day standards. To round off your "Olympic" experience, you will also have a snack and watch a typical Greek folklore show in a pleasant restaurant in modern Olympia. The tour ends with your return to the port of Katakolon and your ship.

Leave the port and head for your first destination: the ancient town of Olympia, the birthplace of the most important sporting event in the ancient world. Excavated by a team of German archaeologists in the 19th-century, the site offers a unique look at the way these ancient Grecians lived. In line with Greek mythology, the king of the Greek gods, Zeus, constructed the city. The site, surrounded by trees, includes dozens of remains of buildings constructed not only for religious reasons but also for the sporting events held there. You will have a chance to view the ruins of the Temple of Zeus, the gymnasium, the hippodrome, and the stadium, which was constructed with a maximum capacity of 40.000 spectators. Afterwards, the excursion changes theme completely as you reach the Magna Grecia estate. Located in the lush surrounding of Olympia region, this family-owned farm will reconnect you with nature and old traditions. The visit is a feast for all the senses. Not only will you learn about the history of the olive trees, how the olives are harvested and how oil and wine are produced from the surrounding vineyards. Spend a few hours off the ship and follow the trail of ancient Olympians on this fascinating tour to the archaeological remains of Olympia, 40-minute drive from Katakolon. Ancient Olympia is the town that gave rise to, hosted the Olympic Games in classical times, and is still the place where the Olympic torch is lit for our modern-day Summer Olympics, which were reinstated in 1896. Although Ancient Olympia was already re-discovered in 1766, excavation work only began in 1829 and responsibility for the site then passed to the "German Archaeological Institute at Athens" in 1870. Your trip around this UNESCO World Heritage Site will give you a chance to see the ruins of the Temple of Zeus, the gymnasium, the hippodrome, and the stadium, which was designed to hold up to 40.000 spectators. The tour also includes a visit to the Archaeological Museum of Olympia, which was opened in 1982 and is home to an astounding collection of artifacts found during excavation work. Among the museum's most notable exhibits are particularly fine collections of beautifully detailed sculptures and bronzes as well as numerous terracotta artifacts and mosaics. The complex also includes a book and souvenir shop, which you may also like to visit. Your Olympic tour ends with a scenic return drive to the port and your ship.

A short drive through picturesque villages and unspoiled scenery brings you to the Domain Mercouri Winery, known not only for its wines of supreme quality but also for its magnificent location. This is the area where the Refosco grape was first planted after being imported from Italy. In 1930, the Mercouris built a modern winery and distillery, updated again in 1990 with the latest technology. Upon arrival, you'll first visit the winery and then sample rare and prize-winning white and red wines while enjoying a local snack or two. Wine and olive oil are available for purchase, allowing you to savor the taste of the estate long after you depart. After a short drive, return to the ship.

This excursion is ideal for those who prefer to explore on their own but will still like a short introduction on the way. We will drive to Larnaka, the oldest living city in Cyprus and originally known as Kition, the birthplace of the Stoic philosopher Zeno. Linked to early Christian times, Larnaca is a special place for Christians as the town's bishop was St. Lazaros (Lazarus) who chose to spend his "second life" here after Jesus raised him from the dead. A church built in his name exists on the spot where his remains were said to be found. When we reach Larnaca, you will have free time to explore on your own. We will then return to Limassol via Lefkara, a village famous for its traditional style of lace embroidery, known as the "Lefkaritika". Also, here there will be given free time to explore the village by yourself, before returning to the port.

Paphos is an ancient town located on the southern coast of Cyprus, 1 hour far from Limassol. Our first stop will be the Paphos Archaeological Park to visit the house of Dionysus, a luxury building of the Roman periods with rooms placed around a courtyard and destroyed by an earthquake in the 4th century. The house is famous for its beautiful floor mosaics that date back to the 3rd-century depicting scenes of mythology and hunting. The tour continues with a drive to St. Neofytos to visit the 12th-century "Egkleistra", an enclosure carved out of the mountain by the hermit Neofytos. The enclosure contains fine examples of 12th- to the 15th-centuries Byzantine frescoes. The Monastery contains an interesting Ecclesiastical Museum. You will have free time to stroll around this picturesque Paphos harbour which is located next to the Arcaheological Park. A short photo stop at Aphrodite's Rock, birthplace of the Greek goddess of love, is also on the itinerary and concludes your excursion.

The island's third largest city situated by a picturesque salt lake, Larnaca is the destination of this half-day excursion. After leaving the ship, an hour-long coach journey takes you to ancient Kition, home of the philosopher Zeno. The guided tour of the city centre takes you through its quaint old town, which boasts attractions including the old fort, now a museum, and the church of St. Lazarus. The excursion continues with a coach ride along the salt lake to reach Hala Sultan Tekesi, or the mosque of Umm Haram, built in 1816 over the tomb of Umm Haram, a relative of Prophet Mohhamed. After the visit to the mosque, the tour concludes with the return to the port.

This excursion may well take in the sights of Apollo, but we will also be paying homage to the Greek god Bacchus as we learn also about island's history of wine! Our first stop is at the Temple of Apollo, the largest and most important religious centre on the island and which was in continuous use from the VIII century BC to the IV century AD. We will continue to the nearby village of Kolossi to visit the castle, left over from the time of the Crusaders in Cyprus. The XIII century Kolossi Castle is linked to the history of wine production on the island, in particular to the manifacture of the local Commandaria wine. Our tour includes a visit to the Cyprus wine museum to learn about the 7500-year tradition of winemaking in Cyprus. Naturally, we will have time to sample a glass of Cyprus wine before returning to the port.

A short drive by coach takes you to the remains of the ancient town of Kourion, which survived from antiquity until the early middle ages, and is considered the most important archaeological site on the island. Overlooking the bay of Episkopi, the site is a constant discovery thanks to ongoing excavations that bring to light new treasures. The guided tour will let you discover the fully restored Greco-Roman theatre and the House of Eustolio with its beautiful floor mosaics. You will learn that the House was originally a Roman villa and then was turned into a public recreation centre. The excursion continues to Omodos, a picturesque small town located inland at 800 metres above sea level, and well known for the wine that is produced in the surrounding area. You will visit a local winery for a delicious wine-tasting session including the Zivania, the Cypriot pomace brandy. Then, take a stroll in Omodos, explore its perfectly preserved historical centre and visit the Church of the Holy Cross. Tradition has it that a piece of the rope with which Jesus was tied to the cross is kept in the church. The tour ends with your return to the ship.

Solin, formerly the ancient city of Salona, seems to stand still in time. Situated on a small island connected to the mainland by a bridge, Solin reached the pinnacle of prosperity in the 3rd- and 4th-centuries, and was the birthplace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian  who later built his imposing Palace in the neighbouring city of Split. The excursion includes a 30-minute visit to the city's archaeological excavations before driving along the Split Riviera to Trogir, also under UNESCO's protection, which was founded in the 3rd-century B.C. Take in the stunning monuments of Trogir, which include the Cathedral of St. Lawrence. This building dates back to the 8th-century and is probably the finest example of sacral architecture in Croatia. Enjoy an hour leisure time in Trogir before returning to the ship.

The small and formerly quiet town of Medjugorje, which is situated in the Herzegovina region near the Croatian border, suddenly acquired global popularity as a religious pilgrimage site in 1981 after news broke that the Virgin Mary had appeared to six local Catholics. A 2.5-hour drive along the lovely Adriatic coastline will take you to view Medjugorje's key attractions such as Apparition Hill, St. James' Church and the statue of St. Leopold. You will have a chance to stick with your guide, pray at this important religious site or explore the location at your leisure. The path up to Apparition Hill is adorned with a set of impressive bronze plaques that illustrate the various Mysteries of the Rosary as a recollection of the life of Christ. If you prefer, you can alternatively stay near the church and visit the outside altar, the statue of our Blessed Lady and the confessionals. The tour concludes with your return to port and your ship.

Croatia certainly has more than its fair share of natural beauty and one such example, the sizeable Krka National Park, forms your scenic destination on this enjoyable half-day tour. Stunning views of ibenik-Knin county will keep you entertained during the 1.5-hour coach transfer to the park. Once you have arrived, you'll first head for one of the park's most popular attractions, the beautiful natural pool and waterfall called Skradinski buk. The River Krka runs through the area and feeds the Skradinski waterfall, one of three cascades in the park. Do keep your camera at hand as you set off on a guided walk through the greenery, revealing not only views of the river and gushing cascades, but also including a visit to an old mill with an ethnographic exhibition. There will also be time for you to explore the natural setting at your leisure before the coach ride back to the port, with more lovely vistas to savour on the way, wraps up the tour.

A short drive will take you south-east of Split and along the scenic Adriatic coast to Omiš, a pretty little town situated at the point where the River Cetina flows into the Adriatic Sea. Continuing your journey down the lovely canyon of the River Cetina, you will soon arrive at the Radmanove Mlinice restaurant and picnic site. Idyllically located close to the river in verdant surroundings, this popular excursion destination is not just the perfect place to enjoy a local snack of smoked ham and cheese with a glass of local wine, but also to take some photos. Your tour then heads back to Split, where you can explore the town's attractions on foot during an hour guided tour. As you stroll through the open-air market or sit on sun-warmed stones, the relaxed atmosphere makes it easy to forget the bustling, modern port that exists only a stone's throw away. This juxtaposition of the old and the new is all part of Split's unmistakeable charm. After some free time in town, you will return to your ship.

No visit to the romantic city of Venice could ever be considered complete if it failed to include a trip on a typical Venetian gondola, rowed by a traditional gondolier. To acquire a licence to practise this old and venerable profession, a would-be gondolier must prove to have expert navigational skills, know the waterways inside out and be familiar with the city's history and landmarks. As you make your way from canal to canal, you can admire the beautiful bridges, the magnificent royal palaces, and the typical narrow Venetian streets, called calli, from a unique perspective. The excursion includes free time in St. Mark's Square, home also of St. Mark's Cathedral that you will admire from outside before a local guide takes you on an informative and comprehensive walk around the calli. The tour draws to a close with the return to the port by boat.

Your guide will provide you plenty of information outside these monuments before boarding the boat again to return to your awaiting coach for the drive back to Monfalcone.
