In Monaco, there are plenty of seaside shops, cafes, and other must-see sites like the Oceanographic Museum and the grand casino that you can visit in your free time — just make sure to dress up to go inside.

There’s that old saying that goes, “it’s about the journey, not the destination.” Well, in Nice, it’s about both. Your journey to Nice features a scenic drive with a stop at Mont Boron for a panoramic view of the city you’re about to explore. Once there, you’ll visit the Old Town and walk along Cours Saleya, a pedestrian area where a flower market is held every morning. Follow your guide to see the highlights before reaching a wine cellar and tasting a bold selection of local cheese and wine.

South of mainland Cannes, you'll explore the Lérins Islands on a kayak — founded around 410AD. Before pirates raided the seas across the Atlantic, Andalusian pirates raided these islands — and on a calm day, you may see Ile St. Honorat's monastery whose ancient monks fended them off. Paddling this micro-archipelago, marvel at the stunning flora and fauna that sprinkle the coast (which current monks use to cultivate wine and honey) and have a chance to swim in the deep-to-light blue waters.

Get nice in Nice — touring the city that Picasso and Chagall called home, walking the palm-lined boulevards of chic row houses, and the famous Negresco hotel. For medieval allure, the hilltop village of Éze will give you literary and fairytale feels by exploring old streets closed off to traffic. You'll learn about the fine art of quality dairy cultivation while sampling cheeses and other products on-site. Onward to a brewery to taste the unique characteristics of different beer blends, plus, you'll stop at a modern taverna for a fresh pastry. Overall, you will receive a first-class education in Greek traditions and end with a PED — palate enhancing day.

You’ll be driven to Sunset 180º Bar to watch the sunset with a cocktail and light snacks. Then your group will be taken to Old Town for another cocktail and be given details on additional places to check out, or you can stick around if you’re having too much fun. A scheduled rendezvous time and destination will be provided to get you back on board. If you want to stay out longer — simply inform your guide that you’ll be making your way back on your own.

Wander the narrow, picturesque streets of the capital, also known as Chora, for a fascinating deep dive into history. Take a scenic drive and walking tour of the Acropolis before heading to the airport. Passing by both ancient and modern marvels, you'll see The Temple of Zeus, Hadrian's Arch, the former Royal Palace, and much more. Then it's up to *the* Acropolis — the ancient citadel that has stood the test of time for millennia. Walk through its stunning Propylaea entryway, spot multiple landmarks, and finally, the Parthenon — the magnanimous temple dedicated to the goddess Athena that overlooks the city.

Reserve a spot in advance on a shuttle that will transfer you from the cruise terminal to Athens International Airport. After clearing customs at the terminal, there will be a shuttle reserved just for Virgin Voyages Sailors. From the port, you'll be driven over to the Eternal City. Here there will be photo stops at The Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and Spanish Steps, plus free time to explore independently. Your group will then visit one of the world’s holiest places: Vatican City. Inside St. Peter’s Basilica, your group will see the iconic the Sistine Chapel — Michelangelo’s heavenly ceiling fresco. A guide will take you on a route from the Trevi Fountain, to visit the outside of The Colosseum, and over to the Roman Forum for a guided tour of its interior. Lunch will be provided at a local restaurant, followed by a drive to Vatican City. Here you’ll get a tour of the Vatican Museum’s incredible artwork, while making your way into Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel. Your group will then walk over to St. Peter’s Basilica where you’ll have free time, before your return ride back to the ship.

On a drive into the countryside, you’ll tour the nearly abandoned Civita di Bagnoregio. This isolated village features narrow streets and ancient buildings made from stone — but most of the city no longer exists. You’ll then taste local wines in a nearby vineyard along with a traditional lunch. Before your trip back, visit Parco dei Mostri in Bomarzo where you’ll enter through a screaming mouth sculpture (the mouth of hell) and witness multiple macabre creatures throughout your walk.

After a drive into Rome’s city center, step into history on a tour of the city’s iconic Colosseum. Inside the arena, see where gladiators and wild animals fought to the death during Rome’s glory days. A guide will walk you over to Palatine Hill and through the Roman Forum, two of the city’s oldest relics that have survived millennia, then to the Trevi Fountain. Here your guide will give you details on where to meet later on, so you can continue your day discovering the Eternal City on your own.

Get lost in the ancient landscape as you visit the village of Tuscania, known for its beautiful churches and medieval city center. Then, visit an oil mill where you'll learn how olives are harvested and how oil production works.

Step into history on a visit to the Medieval city of Capalbio. Dating back to the Bronze Age, many buildings remain intact since the 1400s (or earlier) including Porta Senese, the Walkway of Ronda, and the Pieve di San Nicola. You’ll take a short walking tour, then have free time to explore independently. Afterward, enjoy the views of the countryside while riding over to a local vineyard to sample different blends in one the country’s most acclaimed wine regions, before returning to the ship.

Always wanted to learn how to make authentic Italian pasta from scratch? Now's your chance! You'll visit a local farmhouse, where you'll be welcomed with an aperitif before meeting your chef. The chef will lead the group in an immersive cooking lesson, making fresh Italian pasta and a traditional dessert.

A drive from the ship will take you into the center of Rome for a guided, driving tour. You’ll see the Circus Maximus, Caracalla Baths, Villa Borghese (a beautifully landscaped public garden), and get a quick photo stop outside The Colosseum. Afterwards, you’ll have time to explore at your leisure. Learn the techniques used to make Cava wine as well as its cultural significance before crafting your own glass.

Savor Barcelona with a trip to the charming village of Poble Espanyol. First stop at historic Montjuic hill, a former military station that is now a hub of art and culture. Next, you’ll head to Poble Espanyol for a workshop on making Sangría de Cava, a variation of Spanish sangría using sparkling cava wine infused with fresh fruit flavors. Then, you’ll get a taste of Catalonia by sampling a savory pastry known as coques de recapte before enjoying some leisure time and heading back to the ship.

Just south of Barcelona lies Sitges, a picturesque town on the Catalan coast known for its film festivals and sandy beaches. From the cruise terminal, you'll be driven to Sitges' historic Old Town streets where you'll have free time to wander the city, swim in the Mediterranean, walk along the shore, or just relax in the breeze. Afterward, you will be driven to Barcelona's international airport to make your departure flight.
