Holland America Line's youth activities program, Club HAL, offers an array of entertaining events for kids and teens ages 3-17, supervised by a full-time, professionally trained staff. They'll have an opportunity to join other kids their age for arts and crafts, sports, video game competitions, scavenger hunts, challenging team games and themed parties.

Highlights for kids ages 3 to 6 include “Painting Picassos,” and “Sing-Along Storytime,” as well as theme parties, such as “Dino-Mite Night” and “Ships Ahoy Pirate Treasure Hunt Adventure.”

Traveling by motorcoach, you'll head out along the waterfront Embarcadero and through the historical downtown area. Watch for the Victorian façades of the Gas Lamp Quarter.

Head into the rolling hills and mountains of Temecula to enjoy a relaxing day in one of California's premier wine-growing regions. For the past 50 years, the wineries here have pursued perfection both of well-known grape varietals and of some unusual and interesting Mediterranean varietals. Temecula is home to the largest concentration of wineries in southern California.

See the best of San Diego on land and in the water. Take your seat on the San Diego Seal Tour—an adventure that includes the most interesting sights on land and then heads straight into the bay without missing a beat or moving from your seat. The Seal is an open-air amphibious vehicle driven by an experienced captain and specially designed to be used on land and in the water. Each Seal is Coast Guard-approved and meets all passenger vehicle and department of transportation requirements to ensure the safety and comfort of everyone on board. Your 90-minute journey begins on the streets of San Diego and is narrated by the first mate, who lives in and loves San Diego and has a vast knowledge of things to do and see. See Point Loma with its beautiful mansions lining the hillside, the North Island Naval Air Station repair facility for fighter jets, the Point Loma Submarine Base, the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, the Marine Mammal Training Center and Shelter Island. Ensenada -- the self-proclaimed Cinderella of the Pacific -- is a colorful city with surprising charms, including a spring-like climate all year round.

Board an air-conditioned motor coach and head out off the harbor area. Your guide will tell you about the history of, and present-day life in, Ensenada.

Located just a few miles northeast of Ensenada, about 850 feet above sea level, is the Calafia Valley. This remote part of the Baja Peninsula is widely recognized as Mexico's best wine-growing area. It's about a 45-minute drive to two of Mexico's favorite wineries. As you travel, your guide will tell you about the history of Ensenada and the Baja area. You will also learn a little about local customs and traditions.

Find the ultimate gourmet experience for taco-lovers in Ensenada. Recognized by Food & Wine as the birthplace of the fish taco, this Baja peninsula port is home to extraordinary seafood. Experience the flavors and culture of the city while learning about the historical and current role of this vital fishing port.

Drive through the downtown and residential areas of Ensenada, passing the monuments of the old city, the research center and Plaza Civica, home of the largest Mexican flag in the country.

Take this chance to enjoy one of the major attractions in Ensenada. Board a motorcoach at the pier for a drive to the spectacular La Bufadora blowhole. La Bufadora is a naturally formed blowhole that shoots sea spray 60 to 100 feet into the air. It is quite impressive and makes for a great photo if you can capture the right moment.

A short drive from the pier brings you to the Guadalupe Valley, where you will gear up with an ATV (all-terrain vehicle) and listen as your guide delivers a detailed safety orientation. Then, put on your mandatory helmet and goggles and hop onto your very own single-seater ATV.

Explore Catalina’s giant kelp forest and discover some of the fascinating marine life that calls this area home on this snorkel adventure.

If you can swim, you can snorkel! Board the custom-built Scuba Cat and relax on the sundeck as you cruise to the snorkel site.

Your half-day tour begins with a panoramic drive by motorcoach along the Embarcadero and across the Golden Gate Bridge. This bridge is possibly the most beautiful -- and certainly the most photographed -- bridge in the world. Often half-veiled by the city's trademark rolling fog, San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge spans tidal currents and withstands ocean waves and battering winds to connect the City by the Bay with the Redwood Empire to the north. The tour ends at the ship’s pier on Embarcadero Street located just a short distance from Pier 39, home to the Aquarium on the Bay and a favorite gathering spot for a large population of the California sea lion.

Cross the spectacular Golden Gate Bridge en route to visit one of the few remaining groves of virgin coastal redwoods. These world-famous trees are among the tallest and oldest of their kind in existence. The nature trail at Muir Woods leads you into the heart of the cathedral-like grove of trees. After your time surrounded by nature, continue to the artist colony of Sausalito. The winding roads, cliff-side homes and houseboat havens make this one of the most interesting parts of the San Francisco region. Enjoy the view of the spectacular San Francisco skyline across the bay from this picturesque city on the water.

Discover a few of the highlights of the City by the Bay on this exciting panoramic drive that takes you from the top of Twin Peaks, out to the crashing Pacific Coast, across the Golden Gate Bridge and to quaint Sausalito in Marin County. From the pier, travel along the Embarcadero and up famous Market Street to the top of Twin Peaks. Of the 43 hills in San Francisco, Twin Peaks offers the city’s most spectacular views. The almost-identical summits, Noe and Eureka, rise approximately 922 feet above the city. On a clear day, you are treated to a 360-degree view spanning the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Berkeley and the peninsula. Next, glide through lush Golden Gate Park, San Francisco's enormous arboreal front yard. Situated a few blocks north of the oceanfront end of the park is the spectacular Cliff House—spend a few minutes here taking in the excellent views of the Pacific and the Golden Gate Nation Recreation Area. Proceed to cross the historic Golden Gate Bridge (celebrating its 75th year in 2012), possibly the most beautiful—and certainly the most photographed—bridge in the world. Pause for photos at Vista Point, and from here, a short drive takes you down into Sausalito. Reminiscent of Saint Tropez on the French Riviera, Sausalito is a quaint artists’ colony. Next to the bayside restaurants, antiques shops, and galleries you'll see hamburger joints, ice cream shops, and secondhand bookstores. Sausalito's main strip is Bridgeway, which runs along the water. A bay-front meal (at your own expense) is highly recommended.
